Justice League: The Snyder Cut (2021) review
Zack finally redeemed himself and brought justice to Justice League. This film was beautiful as it gave the appropriate depiction and image to a live action Justice League we all were waiting for.
New scenes are added to the film with new dialogue and music. Scenes are added explaining more to the story and with a new darker tone to scenes, New dialogue is added giving bigger and longer lines to characters giving better reasons to be in the movie some dialogue is removed giving a better understanding and maturity, Music hit me hard not emotionally but gave an excellent thrill and match to scenes.
Speaking of maturity rumors spoke true to adult language added by our heroes. Violence is topped off with bloody gore which was like watching Snyder's The Watchmen except less blood.
Design in characters is way better, Really made me feel like I was watching JL from a comic book as costumes to characters were very accurate and better versions Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Deathstroke, Steppenwolf and Darkseid.
Connections to comics were very small and you'll have to spot them. Some are easy to spot and some are hard as your gonna need a friend who knows their DC comics.
Characters like Cyborg with his origin was very amazing as it gave a better depth look into the character. Flash still seems to be a hero trying to become The Flash we all know and love.
Speaking of comic accuracy. Superman's costume did not give the comic intended purpose, As New 52 comics tell that Superman dies by the hands of Doomsday and returns with this suit to use it as a solar regeneration suit, This is not the case in the film as Superman picks it as a way for a better return. As for The Flash we get to see the Snyder verse version of the Speedforce the thing that gives Flash his speed.
Another thing I loved about this version was the expansion on characters. I love that Zack decided to give more of The Flash and add more of his story, in this version we get more of Barry Allen's potential of abilities and a bigger part to the story. Another thing I really appreciate is that Zack gave Flash more scenes and expansion with what he can do with his speedster abilities.
Another Character I want to discuss is Cyborg. In Whedon's Justice League the film didn't do much with Cyborg and his story, this film really did well giving more importance to Cyborg gave more of his backstory and his personal conflict.
Now let's talk about this movie and it's runtime as it is the first superhero film to be four hours and two minutes. To me though dialogue was longer and the film extended its scenes length with new points of view this movie didn't feel it was that long.
As I said earlier Characters seem to get a comic accurate and better look to them. But there's the one character that last caused issues in 2017's JL.
The story also gives a better Steppenwolf. as 2017's version has an obsession with the mother boxes calling them mother, The Snyder cut gives justice to this as there's a reason for grabbing the boxes.
Don't miss out on this movie cause it is definitely a version worth watching. Most critiques would tell the good parts of a film then the bad but in my experience in watching this film it was definitely a step up for DC's films and a big redemption for Zack Snyder.
