Batman Begins (2005) Review

Batman Begins one of the greatest Batman Films and imagining of Batman.  Christopher Nolan Director of so many great films before his picture and brilliance. For a batman would be born Warner Bro's was looking to make a new Batman so they called Nolan to do so cause of unsuccess in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Young Bruce Wayne who suffers the death of his parents journey's far East and learns to fight for justice, With the training of Ra's Al Ghul Bruce comes home to his city with dangers following and ready to cause chaos and suffering upon Gotham.

Nolan had to come up with a way to reboot a Batman franchise, With Warner Bros interests in doing so Nolan would tell a story that was never told and he would give the world the best batman story, yet this film and it's following films were loosely inspired by comics such as Batman: Year One, Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Knightfall, Yet mostly by Nolan's story.

Batman: Year One is an expansion to Batman's first year of being Gotham's Dark Knight as during the time he was a vigilante. This is also a story that did not include his villain's as this only includes Gotham's crime lord Carmine Falcone who's has given himself control and power due to corruption in Gotham's law enforcement, judges and politicians. However this comic comes as part of Batman  begins as Carmine has does the same thing making this the comic accurate Falcone, yet mostly Batman begins gives us villains such as Victor Zsaz, Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul.

Batman Year one is a must read to start off your reading if your a person who want's to be a fellow reader to his mythology.

What made this film as the first film to be so successful was expanding on Character's never seen on film, such as Victor Zsaz, Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul, Batman Begins was amazing on expanding these characters though one made small appearance it was good of Nolan not to add just the bigger villains, Victor Zsaz is not a villain that has such an impact on Gotham or batman like such villains as joker as Zsaz is a murderer of Gotham's citizens and marks his victim count as tally marks on his body using his murder weapon.

With this vision on Batman it comes out as darker then Burton and Schumacher's versions, Batman is way darker and brutal and very scary in this version, When it came to making a new batman Nolan would come up with a new suit though it was based on the same colors this suit was made with military technology and was supposed to be used by soldiers in the military.

Casting was absolutely incredible choice as Christian Bale was the first British man to play Batman, Bale would put himself into weight gain and get into shape this left bale with two hundred twenty pounds then dropped to one hundred ninety pounds as it was the weight the studio was looking for though this isn't Batman's comic accurate weight as Batman weight is two hundred twenty, Christian Bale was best at picking the dark tone to a Batman, People can't ignore Legendary performances by past actors to Batman yet I have to admit Bale was my favorite Batman and nobody can top this.

I think a good reason Batman Begins came as a massive success as Batman films go is the fact Nolan did not have any screw ups as far as characters and story goes. Burton he's a great director and when I got older I had to watch Batman (1989) over and over and I think the ridiculous part about it was that he didn't make a proper origin story to Batman's Origin as he made Jack Napier/The Joker (Jack Nicholson) as the Wayne Killer this is the first problem as Burton wrote Bruce's reason of being Batman to find Napier and kill him yeah you heard right KILL HIM, Batman's number one rule of no killing is off this version of Batman as he kills Joker, So even though that movie comes as a great Batman movie I realized it has it's flaws and obviously Burton ignored facts about Batman.

What I love about this film and the following two films is Nolan gave a realistic take to Batman comics. In the trilogy there is no mention of Superman or Batman's villain's that have superpowers and I think it's amazing he picked up realistic take with his characters. Another reason I absolutely loved this trilogy is were given a great story that means more than Batman story were given the sacrifices a hero would give to save a city that's so corrupted and the journey Bruce would go through to be Gotham's hero.

Music was just amazing I love well executed music the music comes as my favorite part of movies, Hans Zimmer did a Great job as he always does.

What I think as far as characters such as James Gordon and Lucius Fox were incredible.

Nolan's decision to have Gary Oldman play James Gordon was perfect, Not Only did Oldman play an extraordinary job playing Gordon he has the comic accurate looks from the Comics, Though there's difference in hair color his looks as far as wearing glasses and having the exact facial hair are accurate, Oldman has the voice I can picture listening to reading to in the comics and the exact characteristics of Gordon.

I don't know much about Lucius Fox as far as comic version. yet I know that Morgan Freeman plays the perfect execution on this character as far as how supportive Fox is too Bruce in the comics, Morgan was the perfect choice for this role.

Characters such as Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul.

Jonathan Crane was perfectly made into reality from Cillian Murphy's Performance to the role. Murphy play's the insanity part very well, As far as Scarecrow he does the genius Crane to Scarecrow very well as he turns from one identity to the other.

Liam Neeson executed Ra's very well as he made the character the scariest terrorist to come face to face with, He does so well in playing the deadliest villain in comics history.

I loved this film and still enjoy watching it again and again to this day.
