Man of steel (2013) review SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

After watching Justice League: The Snyder Cut I recently learned that Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League was a "Superman trilogy", Of course it was not only that as fans are calling this "The Snyder verse" so I thought I'm gonna have to watch Man of Steel again to see what's good and what's bad and why it got 56% rotten tomatoes?.

I'm gonna start off with what's good on this film.

Casting is just incredible choice. Henry Cavill is an excellent choice as he picks up the attitude and got the comic accurate looks and body build that's needed to be Superman, I think what I like more about Cavill's Superman is the way his Clark Kent isn't always clumsy and picks up more confidence than previous Superman in films, As far as how far Cavill was gonna go with his physique Cavill really put the work in being superman. Yet we can't disrespect the golden legend Christopher Reeve, R.I.P Superman.

What really makes this film a success to me, in this film we see a Clark Kent that is trying to to blend in to society as he keeps finding odd jobs,  So Clark sets out to a job that lands him in Antarctica to find out that a ship that's been in a glacier over 18,000 years is one that came from krypton where he meets his father Jor-El who tells him of the events in what happened to krypton, this doesn't just let Clark know of who he is and where he comes from.

The best part to this story is that we get flashback memories from Clark as he wanders like a ghost finding jobs and being on his own, Along with these flashbacks is Jonathan Kent's part of Clark's life helping him to be the man who would save the world.

Casting for Lois Lane was a great choice, Amy Adams is great in showing the young and successful reporter, due to her relationship with superman we see a Lois that understands the challenges Superman faces in Snyder's story, what I loved about this Lois and her part in this Superman story is the way she meets Clark Kent.

The reimagining of Superman with this film was amazing, As I stated in casting this Superman/Clark Kent has more confidence and has more powers to show out of the comics, This showed me that Snyder had used his knowledge in comics for his imagining of Superman.

Most of all can't forget costume design for Superman, What I find very creative is that Snyder gave an amazing design to this Superman as well as a back story to the detail of Kryptonian fabric, In Justice League (2017) Superman gets questioned by 2 kids who claim they want to ask questions for their podcast, The two asks Superman about himself and his symbol on his chest where he states the reason his symbol is an "S" is cause it means hope and it winds like a "river", this to me is a creative story to this suit.

  Middle of good and bad?

In Man of Steel we get a larger story to Kryptons explosion, This version of the story tells us what Krypton's society was like and it's leadership, we see that more events occur with this General Zod (Michael Shannon) has started a "coup" as stated by Jor-El, Jor-El sets out to get home with a Krytonian artifact called the codex that decodes the genetic makeup of the artificial babies of Krypton, This codex would be inserted into baby Kal-El when he meet's his wife who's standing by to use the launch sequence for the rocket that ends up launching their child to earth.

So what was bad in this film, Why 56% Rotten tomatoes?

Well for me I think the fact Snyder added the origin of Krypton exploding and Superman landing on earth was already done in film and tv too many times, People already knew this story yet I can't say this was a bad version of this story.

I also don't like the way they bring up Lois and Clark's relationship as comes out random, there is no build up and the fact they rush Superman's identity to Lois is too early and not going with the trust route, She doesn't get people to know superman as a hero very well, Instead she scares the public with that aliens walk among earth.

Along with Superman's identity going public this does not come out from Lane's article, No this set's in motion to the threat of an alien broadcast to the public from General Zod Himself, As he states that one of his "own" has sheltered himself to blend in as he looks like like one of "you" as Superman has the structure of a human being.

To me this is honestly the best superman film it's not too cheesy and thanks to Snyder's vision this to me is a success, but I can't ignore it has its problems and that 56% rotten tomatoes for a reason, If you have not watched Man of Steel it's definitely worth watching.
